Overview & Video

Up

Interfaces for overview monitor control can be imbedded directly within the workstation Office system applications as a menu selection. The operator can select either the graphical representations of the railway or live video to display on the overview monitors mounted within the facility.

Live video feeds from remote cameras can be sent directly onto the office network via the Ethernet switches. Streaming video is sent through the network switch across the fiber link to the Overview workstation, which then displays the video feed on the Overview monitors.

Control of monitor display is achieved on the normal and standby workstations which send a JMS formatted message to the Overview workstation via the fiber switches.

The Overview Workstation processes the display message and alters the appropriate monitor display as requested.

The following illustration shows a typical setup of video servers used to transmit live video to overview monitors with displays controlled remotely by transit operators.
